Enjoy Meadowbrook Park at any or all of the following events:

FREE! Yoga in the Park: 9-10am

Come out to experience the joy of yoga! Join the Urbana Park District, your community, and a variety of talented yoga instructors as we take to beautiful Meadowbrook Park for yoga in the open-air. All ages and abilities are welcome to join us as we gather to celebrate movement and breathe under our beautiful prairie skies. Instructors will offer modifications so you can practice at your own level. This is a FREE yoga practice, so invite your friends and family along, bring a yoga mat (although we will have loaners if you need one), some comfortable clothing, and the desire to practice yoga in an outdoor setting. Last summer was fantastic, and this summer will provide more great yoga to enjoy! While this program is free, donations are accepted to benefit the Urbana Park District Youth Scholarship Fund.

Garden Walk: 9am-4pm

Meadowbrook Park’s Interpretive Center garden is part of this year’s Garden Walk. Champaign County Master Gardeners invite the community to view local gardens in the Champaign-Urbana and St. Joseph area. This year’s theme is Beauty for All and features stunning and unique private and community gardens. Enjoy the many gardens at your own pace on a self-guided tour. Ticket sales for the Garden Walk are the main source of funding for the Champaign County Master Gardeners’ projects and activities. For tickets, call 217-333-7672.

FREE! Bee Spotter BeeBlitz: 10:30am-12pm, Garden Pavilion - Race St entrance

Celebrate National Pollinator Week (June 18 - 24, 2018) by becoming a citizen scientist! Join us for the fourth annual BeeBlitz, where people all over Illinois are encouraged to go outside and photograph bees on a single day, then upload their photos to www.beespotter.org. A guided expedition through Meadowbrook Park's Sensory Garden and Spomer Prairie is departing from the Garden Pavilion. Bring your camera or smartphone and comfortable walking shoes, and be ready for an adventure! Learn more online at www.beespotter.org/beeblitz. Call 217-384-4062 by Friday, June 15 to let us know you are coming.

FREE! Lets Go Fly a Kite: 1-3pm, Meadow behind PrairiePlay

Looking for something fun and exciting to do outside? Go fly a kite! Bring your own kites to fly during the event or make one at our kite making station. Who has the highest flying kite, the smallest kite in the air, the most lavish, simplest and more? The first 30 kids to register will receive a kite to build and fly in the fun-time competition. Donations will be accepted for our scholarship fund.

FREE! Strawberry Jam: 4pm-Sunset

Summer is a time to take it slow and easy. There’s no better way to celebrate that feeling than with live music and your favorite summertime treat! Enjoy musical performances by local musicians and taste fresh strawberries over ice cream (while supplies last).

The grassy meadow next to the Meadowbrook Interpretive Center is the perfect spot for this free concert with an old-fashioned flavor. This summer event features a hayrack ride through the park, guided prairie tour and play with nature’s "loose parts" while discovering what the new Friendship Grove Nature Playscape at the Anita Purves Nature Center has to offer. Don’t forget your blanket or lawn chairs! Overflow parking is available at Stone Creek Church at the corner of Windsor Road and Race Street.
