Meadowbrook Park is a popular park not only for people in Urbana, but also the surrounding region. With its open spaces, nature, art, gardens and playground, it is a beloved park.
Roger Digges, Urbana Park District Commissioner, wrote a book Meadowbrook: A History, and it is available to the public. There will be a book release party at Anita Purves Nature Center on September 21, from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Meet the author and learn how the Urbana Park District turned a farm into an iconic park that provides a unique blend of nature, art, recreation, and learning. Enjoy complimentary cookies and lemonade during a presentation by the author, followed by time for questions and answers. Signed copies of the book will be available for purchase for $29.00 each plus tax.
RSVP by Wednesday, Sept. 20 by calling 217-367-1544 or online at urbanaparks.org/register.
Everyone is welcome to Anita Purves Nature Center on September 21 to celebrate a new book about Meadowbrook Park.
